A court in the Siberian city of Chita has fined a local woman 30,000 rubles (about $437) on charges of “discrediting” the Russian army for “liking” a social media post about the war in Ukraine, according to the Radio Europe/Radio Free Liberty affiliate Sibir.Realii.

The woman, whose name is Nelly Loseva, clicked “Like” under a post that said the following:

We’re starting to see reports about the deaths of mobilized soldiers; there are going to be more and more. They’re not protecting the Motherland, the motherland itself attacked a neighboring country. People are dying for no reason.”

Loseva is reportedly also the subject of an ongoing misdemeanor case for “liking” a post that read, “For visitors to my page: Putin is a dickhead, Crimea is Ukraine, and Russia is waging war against Ukraine.”

In December 2022, the same court fined Loseva’s son, Ivan Losev, for anti-war posts he made on social media, including one in which he described a dream he had about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
