Ukrainian authorities report death of a one-year-old in a home destroyed by a Russian missile
In Kriyvy Rih, Ukraine, in the early morning hours of December 17, rescue workers pulled the body of a one-and-a-half-year-old boy from the rubble of a residential building destroyed by a Russian missile strike. Valentyn Reznichenko, Governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, reported the death.
The missile strike killed three others in the city: a 64-year-old woman and a family with a young son. Another 13 people were wounded, including four children, said Reznichenko.
In times of war it is impossible to immediately verify information disseminated even by official representatives of parties to the conflict.

On December 16, the Russian military launched a new round of wide-scale missile attacks on Ukraine, which damaged energy infrastructure in the eastern and southern parts of the country. State energy company Ukrenergo announced a state of emergency after missile strikes caused the country’s energy system to lose more than 50 percent of its capacity. A Russian missile struck a residential home in Kryvy Rih, destroying one of the building’s five entrances.
