Justice Ministry includes publication The Bell in registry of ‘foreign agents’

The Russian Ministry of Justice included publication The Bell in its list of “foreign agents,” according to a consolidated registry the ministry maintains.

Also included in the registry are:

  • Rovshan Askerov, a journalist and participant on the game show What? Where? When?
  • Mikhail Fishman, a TV Rain employee
  • Ruben Apressyan, a philosopher
  • Rostislav Murzagulov, a public figure
  • Ekologicheskoye Dvizheniye (Ecological Movement) 42, an environmental defense organization

The Ministry of Justice included them in the registry on the basis of a federal law “On control over the activities of persons being under foreign influence.” The registry now contains 499 people and organizations.
