Russia has spent $82 billion on its war against Ukraine, according to Forbes Ukraine.

By the magazine’s estimates, Moscow spent $28.7 billion on support for the army and another $15.6 billion on soldier salaries. $9.4 billion has gone to the families of soldiers who have died, while $15.6 billion has gone to the families of injured soldiers, according to Forbes. Military equipment losses have reportedly cost the government another $20.8 billion.

Forbes noted that Russia’s total 2021 budget revenue amounted to $340 billion.

Journalists used data from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff to calculate Russia’s expenditures.
