Russian National Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev reported Wednesday that the level of “extremist crime” in the country has tripled in 2022.
“The Russian Interior Ministry and FSB have taken measures to prevent young people from getting involved in the activities of extremist organizations and radical youth movements, as well as to combat the activities of adherents of neo-Nazi ideology,” the security official said at a meeting in Crimea.
In light of the circumstances, “regional governors and the heads of the pertinent executive agencies” must “devote more attention to ensuring social and political stability and public security,” Patrushev said.
