More than 300,000 people have now been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Russia

On the morning of May 20, Russian officials announced that the country recorded 8,764 new coronavirus infections in the past day (499 fewer new cases than the day before) bringing the nation’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 308,705 patients. 

Another 135 people reportedly died from the disease, raising Russia’s total number of fatalities officially caused by COVID-19 to 2,972. As many as 85,392 people in Russia are known to have recovered fully, including 9,262 in the past day.

Russia says it’s conducted more than 7.5 million coronavirus tests, so far, including 225,700 in the past day.
