Moscow police officers have arrested Pussy Riot member Maria Alyokhina, the activist and musician told MBK Media.

Alyokhina said that the reason for the arrest was a banner drop that took place November 8 on a bridge near the Kremlin. In the action, Pussy Riot members and members of the Dekommunizatsiya (Decommunization) project hung a banner from the bridge that read “Stop (!) Gulag” and featured the faces of criminal defendants who are considered modern-day political prisoners in Russia.

Dekommunizatsiya coordinator Dmitry Enteo (born Dmitry Tsorionov) was jailed for five days as a result of the same action on November 15; he was charged with repeatedly breaking public assembly laws, which require permits for any gathering of more than one person.
