Ksenia Sobchak leaves Russia's most recent presidential debate in tears
In Russia’s latest televised “presidential debate,” Ksenia Sobchak walked off the stage in tears. She exited after each candidate was given 30 seconds to make concluding remarks.
During her turn, other candidates repeatedly interrupted her. “My friends, why is it that you only interrupt me?” she asked, promising to take the matter to the Central Election Committee.
As Sobchak left the stage, the show’s host, Vladimir Solovyov, berated the other candidates for “driving a woman to tears” and begged federal election officials to give him the authority to stop candidates from interrupting and harassing each other.
The committee’s press secretary later told reporters that television networks can already give debate hosts whatever powers they like.
