Two protesters detained in Moscow for pepper spraying riot police

Source: OVD Info

Two protesters were detained on Monday in Moscow on suspicion of attacking police officers during an unsanctioned anti-corruption demonstration. According to the website OVD-Info, the two activists reportedly pepper sprayed riot police. The names of the two suspects are Anton Shaposhnikov and Mikhail Davydov.

Russia’s National Guard previously announced that the authorities detained one demonstrator for pepper spraying a riot police officer in the face. Officials did not release the name of that individual, and it’s unknown if he was either Shaposhnikov or Davydov.

OVD-Info reports that police detained more than 700 demonstrators in Moscow, though police officials have acknowledged only 150 detentions, at the time of this writing.
