Having heard United States' President Barack Obama's statements on Tuesday criticizing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump pro-Vladimir Putin attitude, Putin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called the American president a Russophobe.
"Unfortunately, we see the continued expression of utter Russophobia. [This is something that we] can only find deplorable," said Peskov.
Speaking at a pro-Hillary rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Obama critcized Trump for idolizing Vladimir Putin and criticized Putin for suppressing freedom of speech in his country by censoring the media and jailing political opponents. He also compared Putin to former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
