The Russian government's media censor restores access to Amazon Cloud Drive

Russia's media censor, Roskomnadzor, has agreed to remove Amazon Cloud Drive from its list of banned websites. The website was initially blocked because it allowed users to download a program to play poker. Amazon later complied with officials' orders, and removed the app.
Roskomnadzor blocked the entire Amazon Cloud Drive service because it uses HTTPS, which complicates the process of blocking specific parts of any online resource.
A number of websites, including Tumblr, Formspring, and Pinterest, rely on Amazon S3 to safeguard their information or store files.
Roskomnadzor has temporarily blocked popular Internet services in the past, including YouTube, Wikipedia, and GitHub.
