Police detain ‘wizard’ for writing a pacifist slogan on Kremlin wall

Source: Interfax

Police detained and later released a man for writing on the Kremlin wall, a source within law enforcement told Interfax news agency.

Just before daybreak, a 43-year-old man had written “Peace for the Whole World” in chalk using old slavic lettering on a section of Kremlin wall adjoining Alexandrovsky Garden. Once police arrived to the scene, the man told them he was “a wizard” and claimed the inscription had special properties, at which point the officers decided to bring him in to the station for examination by a psychiatrist.

The examination did not reveal the detainee had any form of mental illness. The man was released after a routine warning conversation from the officers at the station, the source said.

Interfax said it did not have any official confirmation on the incident.
