Ukraine's Prime Minister tells schoolchildren to switch to Facebook because Mark Zuckerberg has Ukrainian ethnic roots

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has called on the country's schoolchildren to abandon the Russian social network Vkontakte in favor of Facebook, arguing that American Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has Ukrainian ethnic roots. Vkontakte is owned by the Mail.ru group, which belongs to Alisher Usmanov, one of the wealthiest men in Russia.

“Now who's got a social media account? Who's on Facebook? The rest of you have accounts where? On Vkontakte. I recommend that you switch to Facebook, if only because Mark Zuckerberg, the founder, his family is from Odessa, and we must support our own people,” Yatsenyuk said to children at a school in Kiev.
