Russian rocket crashes during Navy parade in Crimea

A botched missile launch was captured on video by onlookers in Crimea during a parade celebrating Russia’s Navy Day. During the July 26 celebrations, a guard ship in the Black Sea Fleet launched a rocket that immediately broke into pieces in mid-air and plunged into the sea.

The Russian military has yet to offer an official explanation for the malfunction.

No one was injured in the incident. Onlookers have also uploaded videos of several successful rocket launches during the parade.

Russia celebrated Navy Day in ports across the country with parades. In Crimea, festivities included 20 warships, more than 30 jets and helicopters, 10 support vessels, and coastal defense troops.
