Top tax official in Crimea arrested for bribery

Russia's Federal Security Service, the FSB, has brought a criminal case against head of the Federal Tax Service (FNS) in the Crimea, Nikolai Kochanov.

According to local news agency Crimea Inform, Kochanov is accused of giving bribes. Further details have not yet been disclosed.

Kochanov was arrested on June 29th when he was caught giving a bribe.

On June 29, Crimean Industry Minister Andrei Skrinnik was arrested on suspicion of theft of state property.

On June 26, Crimea chief Sergei Aksenov fired Aleksandr Gordetsky, Minister for Property and Land Relations, after a health resort was leased at a reduced rate.
