Sergei Anufriev, a lawyer in Moscow, was kidnapped today in broad daylight. According to Anufriev’s security guard, the perpetrators stopped the lawyer’s car in the road not far from his house, and forced him into another vehicle before driving off. The incident took place just after noon on Wednesday, June 24. It remains unclear where Anufriev’s security guard was at the time of the abduction.
According to Moscow’s attorney registry, Sergei Anufriev specializes in arbitration, civil law, real estate law, land law, and inheritance law, as well as divorce and marriage contracts.
Police say a search operation is underway.
Update: the news agency Moscow reports that it was able to contact Anufriev, who said he is safe, but refused to give any details about his alleged kidnapping.
