This East Siberian ensemble knows how to celebrate International Cat Day

Source: TJournal

In honor of International Cat Day, August 8, the “Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the House of Officers of the Zabaykalsky Krai” has dedicated a comical “Cat’s Duet” to fans of the feline, performed by the soloists Valentina Bragina and Alexandra Kuznetsova.

Though “Cat’s Duet” is attributed to the composer Gioacchino Rossini, it is actually a three-part compilation, consisting of “Cat’s Cavatina,” composed by Danish composer Christoph Ernst Friedrich Weyse and two fragments of Rossini’s 1816 opera “Otello.” It was written in 1825.
