Sorry, Cinderella, but your Russian carriage was towed for parking violations

In the past week, St. Petersburg has witnessed not one but two horse-drawn carriages towed away, presumably for illegal parking. The first carriage appears to have been removed from the street in the dead of night on September 19.

Another carriage was carted off just two days later, on September 21, this time in broad daylight. 

It turns out that St. Petersburg isn’t alone in its willingness to tow away these romantic vessels of the road: the same thing happened in Voronezh earlier this year in May.
