Russia’s campaign for Bakhmut

Russia, using mainly Wagner Group forces, has been trying since June to take Bakhmut. In mid-January, the Russian side said it had captured Soledar, a small city in the Bakhmut region, and after several days claimed to have "liberated" Klishchiivka, a village within five kilometers (about three miles) of Bakhmut. Meduza shows how events unfolded at that part of the front.
