360-degree footage of the ‘Russian Knights’ flying over Moscow
Everyone's favorite Kremlin-funded media outlet, RT, has released a series of 360-degree videos filmed from different war machines that took part in the Victory Day celebrations today in Moscow. One of the videos was recorded aboard a Sukhoi Su-27 in the “Russian Knights,” the Russian Air Force's aerobatic demonstration squadron (like the US Navy's “Blue Angels”). The panoramic video allows viewers to alter the camera angle, revealing footage of Moscow on the ground below, as well as the other jets flying in close formation. You can also turn the camera around and see the pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Yerofeev.
Bonus: watching RT's videos, you can also take to the skies in a Mil Mi-8 twin-turbine helicopter.
For those who battle a fear of heights, you might be more comfortable atop the hatch of a 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV self-propelled gun, which rolled through Red Square as part of this year's Victory Day celebration.
