On July 10, Moscow’s Basmanny Court jailed Sergey Furgal, the sitting governor of Russia’s Khabarovsk Territory, for a two-month period. He was arrested in Khabarovsk the day before on suspicion of organizing two murders between 2004 and 2005. Law enforcement have arrested four other people in connection with the case against Governor Furgal — according to the investigation, they have testified against him.
