Ukrainian cargo plane catches fire at Japan’s Chubu airport
An An-124-100 Ruslan cargo plane operated by Ukraine’s Antonov Airlines caught fire while landing at Chubu International Airport.
The airport closed its runway for 15 minutes due to the incident, the broadcaster NHK reported. NHK did not specify what damage the plane sustained or whether anyone aboard was injured.
Japanese authorities said they are investigating the incident.
A drone carrying explosives was found near a Ukrainian An-124 at Leipzig Airport in August 2026. Germany accused Russia of attempting sabotage, which Russian authorities deny.
