The State Duma has approved all of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin’s nominees for a government reshuffle.

  • Anton Siluanov will become deputy prime minister while remaining finance minister.
  • Oleg Kozhemyako, the governor of Primorsky Krai, will become deputy prime minister and presidential envoy to the Far East, replacing Yury Trutnev.
  • Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin will become deputy prime minister overseeing transport.
  • Dmitry Yadrov, the head of Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, will become transport minister.
  • Irina Okladnikova, the first deputy finance minister, will become deputy prime minister and government chief of staff, replacing Dmitry Grigorenko.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the Russian government reshuffle on October 19. Vladimir Putin backed the proposal. Experts say Siluanov’s new role and the appointment of his first deputy at the Finance Ministry, Irina Okladnikova, point to Siluanov’s growing influence. Dmitry Grigorenko, whom Okladnikova will replace, is considered one of the officials closest to Mishustin.
