The number of users reporting outages in Sberbank’s services has sharply increased in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Novosibirsk region, and other regions, according to data from the monitoring sites Sboi.rf and Downdetector.

Users reported that online banking was not working, payments were not going through, the website would not load, and the app would not open.

Outages were also reported on other sites and services: Mail.ru, Kontur, Ozon, MegaFon, and VKontakte, as well as the provider SkyNet St. Petersburg.

Ukrainian drones attacked a Sberbank data center in Balakovo, in the Saratov region, overnight on October 14. Sberbank First Deputy Chairman Alexander Vedyakhin confirmed the attack but said all services were operating normally.

Ukraine’s armed forces struck data centers belonging to Yandex three times last week. After the third strike, users across Russia began experiencing problems with Yandex’s own services as well as those of many other websites. Yandex’s services abroad, in Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Serbia, also stopped working or experienced disruptions.
