Montenegro expels founder of Russian pro-war Telegram channel Rybar, citing ‘potentially dangerous’ activities
Montenegro is expelling Mikhail Zvinchuk, founder of the Russian pro-war Telegram channel Rybar, from the country. News of his detention emerged on the morning of October 9.
Montenegrin authorities also issued expulsion orders for Zvinchuk’s wife and three of his employees, who were detained along with him.
Montenegrin law enforcement authorities said in a statement that they had “prevented potentially dangerous activity by these individuals in Montenegro.”
Zvinchuk said he had arrived in Montenegro the day before. He managed to enter the country despite being on the EU’s sanctions lists, which Montenegro usually mirrors. Zvinchuk himself suggested the reason was a border guard’s incompetence.
