All three lines of Kyiv’s metro stopped running during the evening rush hour on October 8.

City Hall said the cause was “a drop in voltage from external power sources.” All escalators also stopped working.

Local Telegram channels reported that some tram and trolleybus services in Kyiv have stopped running.

The cause of the voltage drop is unclear. There were no reports of Russian strikes on critical energy infrastructure in Kyiv on October 8.

Update: Train service on the Kyiv metro’s “blue” and “green” lines is gradually resuming, with trains running less frequently, the city administration said. At the time of this writing, trains were not running on the “red” line.
