Russia strikes bridge over Dnipro River in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia, injuring five, including Red Cross workers

Russian forces struck one of the bridges over the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhia overnight on October 6, said Mykhailo Semikin, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration.

Traffic on the damaged bridge was shut down. Five people were injured in the strike, including two Red Cross staff members.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) also reported that a drone struck a nine-story residential building in Zaporizhzhia during a Russian attack on the evening of October 5. An apartment on the fifth floor and a balcony on the sixth floor caught fire, and two people were injured.

In Kyiv, the roof of an educational institution in the Obolon district caught fire after a Russian strike overnight on October 6. No one was injured.
