Explosions at chemical plant in Moscow region reportedly kill seven, force evacuation of more than 40 people

Russian Telegram channels with ties to the security services reported explosions in a production unit at a chemical plant in the Moscow region town of Krasnozavodsk.

One of the buildings was partially destroyed and a fire broke out, according to preliminary information cited by Mash. Eyewitness footage shows thick gray smoke rising into the sky.

Shot reported that seven people were killed. More than 40 people were evacuated.

Baza reported that crews from Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry are at the scene. Rescuers initially could not reach the fire but have now begun fighting it.

Moscow regional authorities had not commented as of publication.
