The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, announced the results of the State Duma elections, held September 18–20.

United Russia won 349 of the 450 seats in the vote count. Russia’s Communist Party (KPRF) placed second with 37 seats, followed by LDPR with 23 seats, New People with 19 seats, A Just Russia with 17 seats, and Rodina with one seat. Four independent candidates will also enter the State Duma, the lower house of Russia’s parliament.

Pamfilova also said 46 war participants won seats in the State Duma, 41 of them from United Russia. She said service members turned out to be “the most active and interested voters, who understand perfectly well what they are fighting for.”

Turnout in the State Duma elections was 59.8%, according to the latest data from the Central Election Commission. More than 67.4 million people voted.

At the same time, as electoral analysts noted, some vote-count protocols have still not been published, including from the Leningrad region, as well as from the occupied territories of Ukraine.
