Russian military marketplace Roy.Market, launched amid strikes on Wildberries and Ozon warehouses, is tied to former President Dmitry Medvedev and his son’s circle, investigation finds
Roy.Market, a Russian marketplace for military personnel whose launch was announced in mid-August, has ties to people close to Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian president and prime minister who is now deputy chair of the Security Council, the outlet Vot Tak reports.
Roy.Market bills itself as a marketplace for dual-use goods. Buyers and sellers must request access and fill out a form.
The Center for Unmanned Systems and Technologies (TsBST) launched the marketplace. The center was founded by United Russia, PSB — a key bank for Russia’s Defense Ministry — and the Nasha Pravda foundation, which was created at Medvedev’s initiative.
Nasha Pravda was founded by the Dar and Gradislava foundations, which featured in Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) investigations into Medvedev’s assets. FBK claimed the foundations had been created solely to manage the former president’s property. An estate in Plyos that FBK described as Medvedev’s secret country home was registered in the foundations’ names.
Medvedev’s son Ilya also has ties to Nasha Pravda. In early 2025, he helped hand over a shipment of goods from the foundation to Russian troops. Until recently, Roy.Market was headed by Ivan Koptenko, a classmate and friend of the younger Medvedev. Roy.Market’s developers call the elder Medvedev the “inspiration” behind the marketplace.
In the summer of 2026, the Ukrainian military began striking warehouses belonging to Wildberries and Ozon, Russia’s largest marketplaces. Kyiv said the marketplaces served as an unofficial supply channel for Russian troops.
