Ukraine struck Russia’s Yaroslavl region with drones overnight on September 17, regional Governor Mikhail Yevrayev said, adding that 65 of the drones were shot down.

“The oil refinery has sustained damage. Prompt firefighting operations are underway,” he said, adding that the attack blew out windows in several apartment buildings and damaged cars. No one was injured.

Yaroslavl is home to the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery, which Ukrainian forces have targeted repeatedly.

Ukrainian drones also struck Rostov-on-Don overnight Thursday, damaging a transformer substation and leaving four districts of the city without power, Rostov Governor Yuri Slyusar said. “According to operational information, there are no deaths or injuries,” he added.

The independent Telegram channel Astra reported a fire at the Rostov-on-Don Central military airfield, in an area where helicopters and airplanes are stationed, after analyzing photos and videos from witnesses.
