Russia strikes Kyiv and surrounding region, killing more than 10 people
Russian forces attacked civilian infrastructure and residential buildings in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Solomianskyi districts overnight on September 1, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported.

In the Kyiv region, a Russian strike using ballistic missiles and drones killed four people and injured 13, local authorities stated. The strike also damaged residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure, the State Emergency Service reported.
In Boryspil, the strike damaged a five-story residential building, two private houses, and a store, and hit an industrial building at another address in the city. Rescuers evacuated 48 people.
Russian drones attacked the Orlivka ferry crossing on the border between Ukraine’s Odesa region and Romania, Ukrainian border guards reported. The crossing has since suspended operations.
In the Odesa region, a massive Russian strike damaged residential buildings and sparked a fire at a sewing workshop, injuring one person, local authorities stated.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed its forces struck military enterprises and energy facilities in Kyiv and the surrounding region, as well as infrastructure in Odesa, the Odesa region, and the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk.
