Telegram’s new crypto wallet, and why it skips ID checks
Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the launch of a cryptocurrency wallet called Gram Wallet within the messaging app’s ecosystem.
For now, the wallet is available to a limited number of users. Durov promised that access would gradually expand to all Telegram users over the next couple of weeks.
Durov first announced the wallet in mid-July. Gram Wallet is non-custodial, Durov explained: it requires no verification and no intermediary to store funds.
