The Sheskharis oil terminal in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk halted operations after a Ukrainian drone attack, sources told Reuters.

A tanker that had planned to dock at Sheskharis to take on oil turned around instead and headed for open sea early on August 14, the sources said, citing the threat of a drone attack.

The port then suspended both oil loading and crude intake at the terminal after its storage tanks reached capacity.

Sheskharis is Russia’s main oil-export terminal on the Black Sea, handling about 700,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Its shutdown adds to mounting pressure on Russia’s energy infrastructure, which has faced repeated Ukrainian attacks in recent months.

The suspension compounds the disruptions at Novorossiysk, one of Russia’s key export hubs. Three grain terminals there had already halted operations after an overnight Ukrainian drone strike on August 12.
