The Sverdlovsk region’s election commission has rejected the pro-war Rodina party’s candidate list for elections to the regional legislative assembly.

The commission said Rodina had failed to submit all the documents required for registration, including signature sheets.

Last week, the commission registered the Yabloko party for the same elections, according to the independent Russian outlet 7×7. Yabloko is running under the slogan “For peace and freedom, for a life without fear.”

On August 10, Russia’s Supreme Court removed Yabloko from the State Duma race, acting on a lawsuit filed by Rodina to keep competitors off the ballot.

Yabloko is the only party in Russia campaigning under an anti-war slogan.
