Litres — the largest e-book and audiobook service on the Russian Internet — has pulled two volumes of Durov’s Code, a book by Nikolay Kononov, from sale. The book profiles Pavel Durov, founder of VKontakte and Telegram.

“The Litres Group of Companies operates in accordance with Russian law,” the service’s representatives told Podyom, a Russian news outlet.

Even before the Litres move, Russian marketplaces had started pulling merchandise featuring photos of Durov from sale. Moscow’s AltraVita clinic, which offers in vitro fertilization (IVF) using Durov’s donor sperm, also took down the promotional page for the procedure on its website, though the procedure itself remains available.

Russia’s Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring) added Durov to its list of terrorists and extremists on July 30, a day after the Federal Security Service (FSB) accused him of aiding terrorist activity. The FSB justified the allegation by claiming that Telegram fails to remove channels and chats that violate the law.
