Russian forces launched missile strikes overnight on July 30 against several regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv and its surrounding region.
Kyiv was struck by ballistic missiles, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported one person killed and two injured, along with fires in two districts: market trade pavilions burned in the Obolonskyi district, and a fire broke out at a garage cooperative in the Sviatoshynskyi district.
In the Kyiv region, the attack injured five people, including one child, and partially destroyed a two-story private home in the village of Skybyn in the Brovary district, damaging two neighboring houses.
A missile strike on Lviv injured at least 26 people. According to Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, two residential buildings on Paton and Vyhovsky streets suffered the worst damage. More than 20 residential buildings were damaged citywide, along with a school and two kindergartens.
In the village of Radushne near Kryvyi Rih, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a Russian missile strike killed five people, including two children, and injured eight others, the State Emergency Service reported. The strike destroyed two private homes completely and damaged five more.
According to Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the city’s defense council, a missile directly hit a private home where a large family lived, killing six people, including three children.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed the overnight strikes hit military airfields, defense industry enterprises, and military communications and logistics centers in Kyiv, Lviv, and the Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Vinnytsia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The ministry also reported hitting a cargo ship in the port of Yuzhne and two more cargo ships east and south of Odesa.
