Russian comedian and producer Mikhail Galustyan announced the upcoming release of a show for Russian television called “Battle of Drones,” Russia’s state news agency TASS reported.

Galustyan spoke about the show’s development during a meeting with Vladimir Putin at the “Everything for Victory!” forum.

“The ‘Battle of Drones’ show that we came up with is a chance to open up this subject and make it understandable, interesting, and popular. We plan to film in the most beautiful places in our shared homeland. Veterans of the ‘special military operation’ [the Kremlin’s term for its war against Ukraine], students, bloggers, and celebrities will compete on the same team,” Galustyan said.

“Good luck,” Putin replied. “Propaganda is an extremely important thing.”

In recent months, amid a shortage of volunteers, Russian authorities have been actively luring students into joining the war. Recruitment materials claim that they will serve as drone operators far from the front line for a single year. That is a lie: in wartime, all Defense Ministry contracts are open-ended, and assignment to one branch of the service or another is always left to a commander’s discretion.
