Moscow residents warned of mobile internet outages

Mobile carriers have begun warning Moscow residents of potential internet disruptions in the city.

“Your region may experience internet difficulties due to security measures. Regular calls, SMS, and some essential services will continue to work,” read a message from the Russian mobile operator MegaFon, published by the Telegram channel “Ostorozhno, Moskva” (“Caution, Moscow”).

The reason for the potential outage was not immediately clear.

As of the evening of June 24, five drones had been shot down on approach to Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
