Ukrainian drones strike Moscow and region, hitting oil refinery in Kapotnya
Ukrainian drones struck Moscow and the Moscow region overnight, hitting an oil refinery in Kapotnya, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said. Air defense forces intercepted 137 drones on approach to the city.
Drone debris also fell on the grounds of the Sadovod shopping center, damaging one of the buildings. There were no casualties.
In the Moscow-region city of Zhukovsky, a drone struck an apartment building on Gagarin Street, regional Governor Andrei Vorobev said. The emergency exit between the 23rd and 24th floors and two balcony slabs were damaged. There were no casualties, according to preliminary information.
Debris came down in Elektrostal as well, damaging the roof of a private home and injuring a woman. In Lyubertsy, debris fell in several locations, damaging a fitness center and a facility in an industrial zone. A fire broke out on the roof of the Belaya Dacha shopping center in Kotelniki after debris landed there.
The strike also caused damage in Chekhov, in the village of Kryukovo, and in Pavlovsky Posad, Vorobev said. There were no casualties in those locations.
