Ukrainian drones struck a bus carrying a children’s soccer team from Belarus, Yegor Kovalchuk, the acting governor of the Bryansk region, said. The children were traveling from Gomel to the resort city of Gelendzhik, Kovalchuk wrote in his Telegram channel.

A woman accompanying the team was killed and six people were injured, including four children. All those injured were taken to a hospital and received medical care, Kovalchuk said.

Russia’s Health Ministry put the number of injured at seven, with one child in serious condition.

The bus, a double-decker carrying 44 passengers — including 28 students from Youth Sports School No. 2 in the city of Rechitsa, in the Gomel region — was struck by drones on the A240 highway in the Bryansk region, according to the Investigative Committee.

Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on charges of terrorism.
