Zelensky warns Russia of a ‘harsh winter’ if fighting continues
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia faces a “harsh winter” if fighting is not stopped in the coming months.
Zelensky told reporters at the G7 summit that Ukraine had endured a terrible winter and that Russia would not be spared hardships either, according to RBC-Ukraine.
He added that Ukraine had no desire to go through another winter like the last one.
Negotiations to end the fighting should begin before cold weather sets in, he said.
In Ukraine, during the 2025/26 winter season, many settlements were left without electricity, water, and heat due to Russian strikes. In Kyiv, many homes were left without central heating during severe frosts.
