Source: Alexander Moor

Updated. A missile threat alert has been declared across the entire Ural Federal District for the first time, presidential envoy Artyom Zhoga announced. The alert covers the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, and Tyumen regions, as well as the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous district. Airports in Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, and Perm suspended operations amid the restrictions.

A missile threat alert was declared in the Tyumen region on the afternoon of May 29. Regional Governor Alexander Moor called it a “preventive measure.”

“Stay calm and remain vigilant! Take shelter in the nearest building (a basement, ground floor, parking garage, etc.). Stay in a safe place until the ‘Missile Threat’ signal is lifted,” he said.

The local outlet 72.ru notes that this is the first time a missile threat alert has been declared in the Tyumen region. Previously, only drone threat alerts had been issued there.

Missile threat alerts were also declared across several other Russian regions: Tatarstan, Perm Krai, and the Samara, Orenburg, Khanty-Mansi, Yamalo-Nenets, Kurgan, Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk, Volgograd, and Rostov regions.
