A drone alert was declared in Perm at around 9:40 a.m., the Perm-based news outlet 59.ru reported. Sirens sounded several times across different parts of the city, and residents said they heard explosions.

In late April, Ukrainian forces carried out a series of attacks on Perm, damaging a Lukoil refinery and the Perm oil pumping station. Smoke blanketed the city center, and residents reported the smell of burning and what they described as an “oil rain.”
