Report: Telega, unofficial Telegram client, pulled from Apple’s App Store

Source: Kod Durova

Telega, an unofficial Telegram client, has been removed from Apple’s App Store, the Telegram news channel Kod Durova reported.

The reason for the removal is unknown.

Telega rose to prominence after Russia blocked Telegram. Built on open-source code, the app connects to Telegram’s servers to send and receive messages. It was developed by a Kazan-based company called JSC Telega.

Experts previously reported that Telega was linked to VK. It later emerged that the app was intercepting user traffic, meaning its owners could monitor all user activity, including reading private messages.
