The Russian military must be prepared for “any developments, including a potential military conflict with NATO in Europe within the next decade,” Russian Defense Ministry Andrey Belousov said on Monday.
“This is evidenced by the decisions made at the NATO summit held this July, as well as reflected in doctrinal documents from the U.S. and other NATO countries,” Belousov said during an extended meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry board.
The minister also said that Russia’s armed forces have been “carrying out the tasks assigned by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief amid a fierce confrontation with the collective West, which continues to escalate and intensify.”
