Ukraine has enough resources and weapons to resist Russia throughout the first half of 2025, even if Washington halts aid to Kyiv, Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Pais published Wednesday.
I believe we have enough resources, enough weapons, enough missiles, and enough artillery shells to resist, at least in the first half of 2025. We will allocate sufficient budget funds to purchase ammunition and the necessary military equipment in 2025. Right now, we’re receiving the required weapons from the U.S. This means that, at least for the first half of the year and beyond, we’ll be well-equipped to resist aggression.
The minister said that both Ukraine and Europe should build good relations with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s team. “Of course, the attitude may change. And to cope with this uncertainty, we must use our time wisely and know how to negotiate with the new administration,” he added.
