Russian-Ukrainian negotiations have led to the return of 46 residents of Russia’s Kursk region, Moscow’s human rights commissioner, Tatyana Moskalkova, announced on Friday. The repatriated individuals were taken to Ukraine in August by Ukrainian troops during their incursion into Russia’s Kursk region. The group of returnees includes 12 children (among them, a newborn and a two-year-old) and at least one disabled person.

A week ago, Moskalkova cited claims from residents in the Kursk region that advancing Ukrainian troops have transferred more than a thousand locals to Ukraine.
