FSB arrests Russian teenager for allegedly attempting to sabotage Trans-Siberian Railway

Federal Security Service (FSB) officers in Russia’s Kirov region have arrested a 16-year-old boy suspected of attempting to sabotage the Trans-Siberian Railway, according to a statement on the FSB’s website.

The FSB claims the teenager received instructions via Telegram from Ukrainian intelligence to carry out a “sabotage operation” on railway infrastructure, with the promise of payment. The agency alleges he “planned to set fire to two relay cabinets used for signaling, centralization, and automatic blocking on the main tracks of the Kirov section of the railway.”

A criminal case has been opened against the teenager for attempted sabotage, which carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
