Starmer and Macron reportedly planning ‘last-ditch’ attempt to convince Biden to authorize cruise missile strikes deep inside Russia
U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron will mount a “last-ditch attempt” to convince U.S. President Joe Biden to let Ukraine use Storm Shadow cruise missiles against targets deep inside Russia, The Telegram reported on Sunday, citing government sources in London.
According to the newspaper, the two leaders will discuss the matter in Paris, where Starmer is traveling Monday to attend France’s Armistice Day ceremony. The U.K. government reportedly has hope that Biden will grant approval for the strikes “in an attempt to secure his foreign policy legacy” as U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s term approaches.
